Austin Swap

I was lucky enough to go to the Austin Shoebox swap and I'm shamefully posting these pictures very late. I caught a ride with my sweet friends Suzy and Tina and we had a blast driving down. Lucky for me, they knew the *hip* places to shop. First, a little stop in Waxahachie called The Crafty Scrapper. I've been in a lot of scrapbook stores in my day and this one was BIG. And I mean BIG. I made three rounds and still only saw some of it! We had a blast in there. We walked around the corner to have a joyful little lunch at a cafe/gift shop. Delish food. Yum. Suzy then backed into a truck, but she didn't major damage and then we were on our way. We stopped at Stamp Salado, another darling store. Smaller, but very sweet. After our trek, we made it to our destination, Lonestar Retreat Center.

Perfect place! There were bunks where we slept and this huge room to stamp. Carmen was the best hostess and she made perfect meals and stamped along side of us too!

Breakfast. This is the only shot I got of the good food. I really have to get better about taking pics of stuff.

Card samples. Each of our cards was displayed so we could oogle.

These are the door prizes. So many generous stamp companies donated. I won some fabulous TEXAS stamps. I happen to be a Texan...it worked out beautifully!! :)

Alright. I've got a couple of things to show you, but it'll have to wait. I have to work *again* today. I prepared most of my Thanksgiving menu yesterday. It's my first year to host and I think I need to PREPARE for it to go smoothly. :) ~megan

Thanksgiving Tag

This is a quickie little project for the upcoming holiday. This will be my first year hosting it and I'm so excited to be cooking and baking for the event. Do you have any favorite recipes?

I used a PTI set and some paper I picked up when I went to Tulsa for a convention a while back. I think I'll wrap one around a vase in the guest room and we'll see what else I can come up with. Keeping this short, have to go to work today! ~Megan

Bella Ornament

Last week, the Bellariffic Friday challenge was anything Christmas. I had been waiting to get this ornament inky! I bought this paper specifically for this image--am I the only one who does this? I colored it with prismacolors and covered it with clear glaze. I love how it's laying/lying (?) on it's side. So sweet!

I used some copper metal letters to spell out merry. I *will* remember to buy a Christmas sentiment in my next order, I *will* remember to buy a Christmas sentiment in my next order, I *will* remem....

My two four legged kids need a long walk today. They're already feeling sorry for themselves, which usually means they have pent up energy. I'll see y'all soon. ~Megan

Singing Bella Bird

I can't believe I haven't shared this yet! It was for a Bellariffic Friday a few weeks ago. It's more of this fab Crate Paper. I keep using this stuff!

I colored with Prismacolors and OMS and added a little metal charm.

We just picked up our new TV for the living room, which means I can get the stamp room all organized. I'll have pictures for you soon. Happy Saturday, y'all!

FWF: Pumpkin Pie

I had so much fun with Unity's Friends with Flair last week that I decided to play along again. I got the sweetest comments from the awesome Unity fans. They welcomed me with open arms! ;) I used the adorable pumpkin pie for this card. It's from the awesome Hodgepodge set. Love it!! I paper pieced the top and covered it with Shimmers. I also used the awesome nestie on a page from an older book that I've torn up.

There are a few candy dots in the corners. LOVE those! Thanks for stopping by. I can't wait to see what the other Unity-ers came up with. ~Megan

For Henry

If you read my previous post, you read about Sarah, who lost her son. For more information, you can read Kate's blog. If you'd like to help you can buy this digi stamp that I used here.

Unity's Pushpin

It's i {heart} papers Thursday. I have an adorable image from Unity's kit of the month. This is such a simple little card. I've been seeing a number of quilted cards lately and I thought I'd give it a shot. I used some Crate paper from this awesome pack. There's so much great paper in this pack! I love the texture and the weight of it. There's other packs that I really want to try out too! Oh, I love the paper. :)

Of course, I used nesties. I just don't think I can make a card without them now. I love the sentiment that goes with this image too! So cute.

With that, there is a tragic story to happened just this past weekend with one of the former IHP DT members. Sarah lost her son very suddenly and very quickly. The story is just so sad. If you go to Kate's blog you can read more about it and read more about how you can help. I hope to be back this afternoon with another card with this digi image for Sarah.
